Ski: seasonal debut in Les 2 Alpes

Saturday, June 23 starts with summer skiing on the glacier. Also on the calendar many other sports events, starting with the outdoor festival

Saturday, June 23, we resume skiing in Les 2 Alpes. The French station officially opens the summer ski season, a season that will continue until September 1st. Between the 3600 meters of the glacier and the 2900 meters there is space for skiers and snowboarders who have at their disposal throughout the summer tracks and halfpipe on which to make great changes.

The snow conditions seem to be perfect thanks to the abundant snowfalls of this winter that lasted until late spring: they have already tested ski instructors, ski clubs and training teams who have free access to the glacier since 11 June.

And during the opening weekend, the outdoor festival will also be staged (in its second edition): an opportunity not only for the skippers but also for mountain bikers, trail running, paragliding and golf. The other events scheduled for the first part of the summer season are Mountain of Hell, a spectacular mountain bike competition scheduled from 29 June to 1 July; Muzelle Festival (7-8 July), snow party with music and animation; the traditional festival of July 14th with fireworks and dancing; the Vintage Motor Show on July 21, which combines vintage cars and motorcycles.

SKI – Marcel Hirscher got married in Ibiza

Wedding in great secrecy for Marcel Hirscher who married his Laura in the beautiful island of Ibiza.

The seven-time winner of the ski world cup has as always wanted to stay away from the spotlight is organized the wedding away from prying eyes (albeit in one of the most famous beach resorts in the world) surrounded only by a few relatives and friends.

Hirscher at the end of yet another triumphant season is finally married to his Laura Moisl even if he has not yet officially known what his intentions for the future. The recent renewal with Atomic suggests that his career will continue with the hunt for the eighth Cup.

Damiano Lenzi joins the Dynafit team

Damiano Lenzi, a famous blue ski mountaineer, joined the Dynafit team. The reigning world champion will be in the company of Alba De Silvestro, another champion who runs under the snow leopard brand.

Damiano Lenzi, born in 1989, joins the Dynafit sponsorships after a few years spent with Atomic colors. Lenzi started skiing at the age of 3, he was originally a cross-country skier and then his passion for fresh snow led him to dedicate all his strength to ski mountaineering.

“Ski mountaineering integrates two realities that I know very well: the need to ‘go’ the legs typical of cross-country skiing to the fun of off-piste descent – Damiano explained – I chose to become part of the Dynafit family because I wanted a new approach, share my field experience with the R & D department of the brand, to develop the best possible equipment for us athletes. The new attacker P49 has certainly contributed to my approach to the brand! ».

CORTINA 2021 – Infrastructure will be finished after the World Cup

The most important benefits for Cortina d’Ampezzo and the surrounding territory that will come from the World Ski Championships of 2021 will be the huge improvements in traffic that will affect the entire Ampezzano area.

Too bad that most of these jobs will be ready after the World Cup. In total, Anas plans 42 projects but only some of them will be able to be delivered on time.

“For the bypasses and accesses to the centers, the works will not start before the end of 2019 – explains Gianni Vittorio Armani, CEO of Anaa to IlFattoquotidiano, which obviously is not compatible with the realization within the foreseen time frame. We currently have 7 construction sites in progress and 4 others in the award. For another 11 we are in the tender and we expect delivery by March “.

Long times, a political situation that is anything but clear, the usual Italian sprawling bureaucracy, and here we have lost years.

The mayor of Cortina, Giampiero Ghedina, is more pragmatic: “The important thing is that the construction sites begin and that the resources destined to the Almagna are not removed. If the works will not be closed by 2021, we will make a reason “.

Of course, because these infrastructural interventions will still be useful for the territory, come from funds moved for the World Cup but will be inaugurated in the post world. And, incidentally, the failure to deliver the work will not compromise the running of the world championship. It will be more difficult to manage the huge flow of people but in some way Cortina will manage. The feeling is, however, that the umpteenth opportunity to do things for good and, above all, for time has been lost.
